About the location of Cha-am
Cha-am is located at the Gulf of Thailand, 200km south from Bangkok (Airport).
25 km down soth you'll find the well known Town of Hua Hin. The royal family of Thailand are having their main residence in the Kings palace of Hua Hin.
In the west there is a chain of mountains, which are dividing Thailand from Myanmar (formerly Birma). That chains of mountains is mainly responsible for the fewer rainy days in Cha-am compared tour neighbours.
In the region of Cha-am/Hua Hin you will find some of the best golf courses in the world; they can be reached within maximal 30 minutes. Furthermore you will find waterfalls, Nationalparks, Temples and Palaces, Butterfly farms and more.
Because of being relatively near to Bangkok, you can easily visit all attractions in the capitol on a comfortable day trip.
The same goes for the Bridge on River Kwai in Kanchanaburi and the famous Floating Markets, which are located appr. 70km before Bangkok.
